Photography is always an expression of feelings to me. Discovering new places and rambling around in the streets is always an inedible pleasure to me. I’ve always tried to be inspired by Henri Cartier-Bresson in urban photography and documentary.

Before starting any project, I write down my initial ideas, ponder every single of them for several months, and then quantify its aspects and concepts as well as consulting with my friends and mentors. It took about 2 to 5 months to complete this process. I often take photos based on the idea I have in my mind. Sometimes, I may think about taking black and white photo or not, cropping and editing or photo montage even during taking photo.

Often, the presence of human is dimmed in my photos, and mostly, his modern  life and the loss of his presence in urban space is visible and important to me. Actually, these photography conditions and this remoteness have been inspired by Mehdi Vosoughnia, a professional Iranian photographer. He has shaped part of my inception of photography in these years.

All in all, my view toward photography is mostly documentary. I started photography with documentary, and it has always been like this, that according to the idea I have, I could stage my photo or use different techniques to convey the concept. Furthermore, Duane Michal’s projects and Bahman Jalali’s montages have always been an inspiration to me.

In my latest project named Fashion, consumerism has become a continuous interconnectedness of human beings, the truth of which is more than a pattern of consumption and a new lifestyle. I’ve used fashion magazines in this project and montaged it with my self-portraits.
